It is said that a person with extensive music training naturally has a great ear and skill for DJing and the proof in this case - is DJ Celeste Lear. Celeste was introduced to DJ culture and the nightlife scene in Los Angeles in the 90’s and was inspired thereafter to go into music production and sound engineering and on her own in 2003. Since then she has received a degree in sound engineering, purchased her own high quality $12,000 mobile sound system and has set up and performed at countless private parties, fashion shows, nightclubs and weddings across the West Coast. DJ Celeste Lear craftily mixes everything from Top 40 Hits to House music to R&B and Hip hop to cutting edge Breakbeat to mellow Chillout, Dub and Downtempo to Reggae to 70’s, 80’s and 90’s hits, classic and Indie rock and prides herself on being able to read a crowd, hone in on the vibe and keep the dance floor rocking with all the greatest hits!

She has the unique claim to fame of being the granddaughter of the 8-Track Cassette inventor William P. Lear and certainly has the same inventive and musical genes as shows in her tasteful, versatile and creative DJ mixes as well as hip and cutting edge music programming and remixes. “It would only seem fitting that the granddaughter of the man who invented the 8-Track would have music in her genes” – Reno Gazette Journal. She is also, interestingly, completely deaf in her right ear from a car accident, but refuses to let this obvious handicap obstruct her from her dreams.

An accomplished music producer and recording artist with her own recording studio, she has personally produced, released and marketed 5 CDs on her own independent label “Boutique Electronique Records” including two of her own solo CDs as well as; Digital Bliss Volumes 1 and 2 which feature “Strictly top notch professional female electronic music producers and DJs across the U.S.”. (She is also featured on Toucan Cove Record’s compilation album “Femmes Fatales” alongside such DJ greats as DJ Collette, Jan Johnston, Mia and Eve Falcon). She has also been in various bands as a front woman and has worked in music supervision for film

Some prior events she has DJ’d include: The “Hollywood Shop Till you Drop” runway event at Universal Studios, The Yelp.com corporate pic-nic in The Golden Gate Park (She was “Yelped” by Yelp themselves!), The Fredericks of Hollywood store opening in Sacramento, The J.J. Valaya Runway Show at The Ritz Carleton and the annual “Fashion On The Square” 2 day Runway Event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown San Francisco and The Frederick’s of Hollywood Store Opening in Sacramento. She has played clubs like “The Temple Bar”, “The Viper Room”, “The Derby”, “The Roxy”, “14 Below” and “Air Conditioned Supper Club” in Los Angeles, The Press Club”, “The W Hotel”, “Project 1”, and “111 Minna Gallery” in San Francisco. She has also provided sound and lighting for countless wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, reunions, birthdays, bar mitzvahs and more.
